Repo Truck in Flight

0 49518By George L. Nitti

Many tow companies want the graphics on their wreckers to stand out; one of the more compelling reasons is to lend the company an air of legitimacy.

Arron Evans, owner of Evans Recovery Specialists in Texarkana, Arkansas, finds this to be an important aspect for his repo business as well.

"There are a lot of illegitimate people in the repo business who are not licensed by the state or are not carrying insurance," Evans said. "I wanted to create something that stood out in order to let my clients know that I am for real."

His efforts have paid off as his truck, a striking 2015 Dodge 5500/Jerr-Dan MP30, is making a lot of money. In addition, it's producing the kind of image that draws clients to him.

Those clients include car dealers, banks, credit unions, collection and forwarding companies and referrals from local towing companies looking to outsource.

The design of his truck primarily simulates the look of riveted airplane metal in shades of silver that provide contrast on the panels. Metal cutouts on the side doors project strength with a heavy-duty tow chain graphic popping out.

Evans said each of metal panel shows his website, swoopinandscoopin.com, peering through.

The striking logo and bold lettering on the side doors adds to the unit's professional appearance. The image is also found on the unit's hood.

"There were a lot of people who said it couldn't be done," Evans said. "But I went online and found panels and sent them to my designer. There was back and forth, and then we went ahead and wrapped it."
